Tankerdale has a dedicated joinery team who undertake the restoration and

conservation of historic panelling, architectural woodwork and joinery. Detailed reports,

surveys and working drawings can be prepared, and co-ordination with architects,

contractors and other building disciplines is competently handled as part of the

restoration process. Previous joinery projects undertaken include:

  PETERBOROUGH CATHEDRAL

Our team of experts recently completed the restoration of the cathedral doors, organ screen and case and choir stalls at Peterborough Cathedral following the fire in November 2001 which resulted in extensive smoke damage to the building.

  CHINESE HOUSE,
  STOWE LANDSCAPE GARDEN

Tankerdale undertook the major restoration, conservation and reinstatement of this important early eighteenth century National Trust garden building in Buckinghamshire. Treatments included structural repairs, paint analysis and consolidation, the construction of a new roof and rebuilding the house on site at Stowe.

  ABBEYLEIX HOUSE

This important Irish property by James Wyatt suffered extensive fire damage.

Tankerdale worked with the appointed architects to restore, and in some cases completely rebuild, the carved and veneered mahogany doors and joinery destroyed by fire.

  PHILIPPS HOUSE
These early nineteenth century mahogany bookcases were restored and repositioned to their original location in the library at Phillips House, Dinton, Wiltshire.
    67 DEAN STREET, LONDON, W1

Tankerdale was commissioned to repair

and reinstate three rooms of painted

softwood panelling dating from the

1720's. The panelling had been badly

damaged during its removal from this

listed building.
